Biographies
Raymond G. Smith, CEO, Chairman of the Board & Director
Mr. Smith is a Petroleum Engineer with 38 years experience in the oil and gas industry in western Canada and international. Mr. Smith was President, Chairman and CEO of Rydal Energy, New Cache Petroleum, Corsair Energy, Meridian Energy Corporation, and Cork Exploration Inc. Currently, Mr. Smith serves as a Director on the Boards of True Energy Trust, Madalena Ventures Inc. and Cruiser Oil & Gas Ltd.
E. Allison Earl, Director
Ms. Earl is a Chartered Accountant and earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1985 where she was class president. For more than 20 years Allison has provided financial advisory services to Calgary's business community. Ms. Earl is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award presented by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta. In addition to operating a chartered accountancy firm, Ms. Earl serves as Chief Financial Officer and Vice-President of Longbow Capital Inc. Allison has served on the boards of numerous profit and non profit organizations. She currently chairs the board of BCT Structures Inc., and is a past chair of the board of the Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter where she served on the board for 8 years.
Jay B. Simmons, Director
Mr. Simmons is a Chartered Accountant, and received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University in 1992. Mr. Simmons is President of Simmons Financial Holdings Corporation, a private holding and investment firm. He currently sits on several boards including Chairman and Trustee of Deepwell Energy Services, a public TSX listed oil and gas services company. From March 1999 to February 2001, Mr. Simmons served as Chief Financial Officer of Request Seismic Surveys Ltd.
Kelsey Clark, Director
Mr. Clark is a lawyer with Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP in Calgary, Alberta. He was called to the bar in Alberta in 2001 after graduating from the University of British Columbia, Bachelor of Laws, in 2000. Previous to that he received his Bachelor of Arts and Science (Honours) at the University of Saskatchewan in 1996. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Clark practiced corporate finance with a large national law firm in Canada, and from 2004 to 2006 with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in London where he practiced with the Project Finance Group on energy projects. Mr. Clark is currently practicing Securities and Corporate Law including; initial public offerings, capital pool transactions, TSX listings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters. Mr. Clark is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, Canadian Bar Association, Calgary Bar Association and Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.
